If you are looking for glassless mirrors please read this.
I have been installing mirrors for various businesses that need them for the Sports and Health Industries for over 25 years. I am replacing plastic mirrors every month for dissatisfied business owners, sometimes after only a year of owning them.
Inevitably someone is going to clean the mirrors without buying a can of compressed air to blow the dust off the plastic, or they they are going to forget to clean it with a optical grade cleaning cloth in one direction. If someone else cleans them one time without following precise directions you have damaged mirrors. Scratches, smudges and marks will be permanent additions to your mirrors. Another reason why they aren’t practical is because it’s nearly impossible to keep people from touching them, especially children. When poked or touched too hard, glassless mirrors will either have a dimple or a rip. The plastic mirror company will also let you know that you may need to buy a hair dryer to take out wrinkles, every so often. If your mirror rips, the plastic mirror company will ask you to put a little square of plastic on top of the puncture, and then use a heat gun to adhere to it. It looks horrible!A real 1/4″ thick mirror is half the price and meets all the safety codes of your municipality. If needed, we can install a Category 2 safety backing that complies with Code ANSIZ97.1-2009 and Code 16CFR1201 for impact resistance.
After installing real glass mirrors you won’t need to worry about scratches, wrinkles, or holes in the mirror. And they will look great for years to come!
